Ordinal Numerals

First promise yourself something. As you are reading this article about Ordinal Numerals, make sure you read it through the end. Second, promise yourself to practice this stuff a lot. Third, make notes and grow your own library of this stuff. Because if you complied with the first, second and third hint, you already know that the fourth is not that hard. Incorporate it in your knowledge-base of the Milton Model, specifically the Presuppositions. Questions?

What are Ordinal Numerals?

Ordinal Numerals are words representing position or rank in a sequential order; the order may be of size, importance, chronology, and so on. As you already discovered, Ordinal Numerals are not that hard to discover.

  • First
  • Second
  • Third
  • Fourth

Some examples of Ordinal Numerals

Now comes the part to incorporate Ordinal Numerals in your Hypnotic Milton Model skillset. Let’s take a look at an example:

  • “You may wonder which side of your body will begin to relax first.”
This sentence presupposes that both sides of your body will relax. The only question is which side of your body will be first.

  • “I don’t know whether your eyes will close straight away or whether you will begin to relax first.”
The above sentence demonstrates and presupposes that you will relax, and you close your eyes.

  • “Do you want to take a deep breath or would you like to settle down into your chair first?”

An exercise with Ordinal Numerals

Remember, the more you demand, the more the muscle expand. The same is true with the Milton Model and all activities you undertake to become a brilliant NLP Practitioner. (attending our NLP Practitioner training for example is a great option …) Here comes the deal. Take two (2) activities you want your client to execute. For example, breathing slowly and deeply and going into a trance. Now, according to the examples above and the knowledge you already have, make a sentence that complies with your knowledge of Ordinal Numerals. Simple! Questions?
